29 new officers join Uttarakhand’s horticulture department
Rudrapur: The Uttarakhand government has taken a major step towards strengthening the state’s horticulture sector by appointing 29 new officers in the Horticulture and Food Processing Department. These officers were selected through the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Haridwar, and have now been officially deployed after completing their training.
To equip them with the necessary skills, the officers underwent basic training at the Uttarakhand Institute of Rural Development, Rudrapur, from November 18, 2024, to February 8, 2025. Following this, they gained practical experience through visits to various horticulture and food processing centres, mushroom and beekeeping units, and other training institutions. After receiving approval from Horticulture Minister Ganesh Joshi, the state government issued their deployment orders on February 19, 2025.
