IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Ltd on Wednesday declared that it has developed around 25 smart technology-based farms with the help of individual farmers to increase production. This will reduce costs and increase income. IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Limited operates in four core sectors:
-Smart Agriculture Solutions
-Animal Feed Business
-Agri-Tech
-Call Center Services
The company uses smart technologies such as automated wireless weather stations (AWWS), Internet of Things (IoT) based automated drip irrigation systems, soil moisture sensors and GIS-based remote sensing satellite image analysis in these smart farms. Each of these 25 smart farms is spread over an area of five acres. Sandeep Malhotra, Managing Director, IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Ltd. stated that the endeavour is to establish symbols of excellence, where precision agriculture technologies are applied across different geographies and crops and the industry is also working to provide services regarding beneficial practices. Bhartiya Kisan Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in association with Bharti Airtel and Star Global Resources Limited has formed IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Limited.
