Dandota Hosts An Awareness Camp For Horticulture Schemes
An awareness camp was organized in village Dandota of Guhla block. While making the farmers aware, a target of 715 acres has been set by the government to increase the area of orchards in the district. To increase the area of gardens by the government, the grant amount given by the government has been increased significantly.
For planting new orchards, 30 thousand rupees will be provided in the form of grant money in the first year, 10 thousand rupees in the second and third year i.e. a total of 50 thousand rupees per acre. To increase the cultivation of dragon fruit, a provision of one lakh 20 thousand rupees per acre has been made by the government. Accordingly, under the ‘Mera Pani-Meri Virasat’ scheme, incentives will be given.
Dr. Pramod Kumar, District horticulture officer told that farmers will have to get registered to take benefit of departmental schemes and the benefits will be available on a first come first serve basis. Under the Crop Group Development Program scheme, Rs 15 thousand per acre vegetable production, mulching Rs 6400, plastic tunnel Rs 14.50 per square meter (maximum 10 thousand square meters), bamboo staking Rs 31 thousand 250 per acre and iron staking Rs 70,500 per acre will be provided as assistance.
Detailed information was also given about MPMV, MFMB and MBBY portals. He also informed the farmers that along with registration on ‘meri fasal-mera byora’ (मेरी फसल-मेरा ब्योरा), they should also register on Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme. By paying a premium of Rs 750 per acre for vegetables and Rs 1000 for fruits to compensate for the loss due to any calamity, the government has fixed a compensation amount of Rs. 40 thousand per acre for fruits and Rs. 30 thousand for vegetables.
