Plantation Done in Schools, Information Given About Horticulture Farming
Aakar Charitable Trust gave information about water conservation and horticulture farming by planting saplings in the schools.
Siyaram Meena of the trust said that under the Save the Planet program operated in India by Aakar Charitable Trust under the leadership of Amla Ruia, water conservation and tree plantation work is being done in different states of the country. Under this, programs are run in Alwar Ajmer, Dausa, Jaipur, Pali, Barmer, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan.
Under the program, countrymen especially farmers are encouraged to save rainwater and take up horticulture. Two-thirds of the total cost is provided by the trust for making check dams and plants for horticulture, in which 600 check dams have been built since 2007 and 25 thousand saplings have been planted.
It has brought a positive change in the lives of about 10 lakh people. Under this program, plantation work was done on 20th July by Regional Supervisor Siyaram Meena along with teachers and school children in the school premises of 10 villages of Kakalwada and Dhasuk Panchayat of Arai Tehsil.
Along with this, plants were distributed to the farmers and villagers for horticulture and information about water conservation was given. This campaign is being run on the instructions of program management Bhupendra Singh.
