Seedballs Expenses Reduced by School Students
Children studying in the schools in Garhi area of Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh are being groomed as environment ambassadors. By giving the message of environmental protection, they are also helping the forest workers to increase greenery. In eight days, around 1 lakh seedballs have been prepared by 1500 children from 50 schools in 34 villages and 16 forest villages in Garhi area. Schools were given seeds of fruit plants and materials for making seedballs and explained how to make them.
These seedballs are being put in the buffer zone of Kanha National Park by the forest workers. The villagers can expect fruit trees to grow from these seeds during this rainy season which will provide the villagers with increased livelihood opportunities.
In order to create awareness among children, efforts have been made. There is a lot of innovative work being done now by kids. As the plants grow from the seed balls made by the children, they will also begin to feel responsible for protecting them.
