ACB nabs horticulture officer red-handed, accepting Rs 1.14 lakh

Hyderabad: Corruption is a root evil in India. All the government offices are replete with corruption. From top to bottom, officials want to earn money through bribes and become rich overnight. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials of Telangana recently caught the district horticulture and sericulture officer of Bhadradri Kothagudem recently. The officer, as usual, accepted a bribe; unfortunately, on September 17, he was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,14,000.

The ACB officers were looking to catch him after getting several complaints against him. Therefore, on that particular day ACB was alert, and the moment he accepted the money from the complainant seeking official favour, he was caught. The accused has been identified as K Suryanarayana, and the police have arrested him, and further investigation is in progress.

As per the reports, the accused urged the complainant to carry the cash in a black bag and deliver it to him without making any hue and cry. The bag with money was later recovered from his possession. A chemical test confirmed the presence of tainted cash on the officer’s hands and clothing.
