SPENBIO offers free saplings during ‘Pitra Paksh’ for ancestral tribute

New Delhi: Pitra Paksh is also known as Shraadh. It started on September 18, 2024, and it will continue till October 2. It is a 16-day period as per the Hindu calendar to honour their ancestors, such as parents, grandfathers, grandmothers, or others who left the world. Rituals such as pitra tarpan and pind daan are performed to help ancestors attain peace. Brahmanas are being fed during this period.

One important thing is that purchasing new items such as new clothes, shoes, and makeup products is discouraged these days. It is prohibited to move into a new home or purchase jewellery. Besides these, cutting hair, nails, and shaving should be avoided.

But one thing we need to do during the 16-day affair of Pitra Paksh is that we need to plant new trees in the name of parents, grandfathers, and others who have left the world for the peace of their soul. It is needless to add that it will be a great deed. With the plantation of trees, you have given a rebirth to your ancestors. It will not be better than to plant and nurture two new green living beings.

During the Pitra Paksh, the Society for Protection of Environment and Biodiversity (SPENBIO) has been providing two saplings free to everyone to take them and plant them wherever they want in the name of their ancestors. If anyone faces any difficulty in plantation, then they can go to the organization (SPENBIO), and its members will plant it in an ideal place.

The sapling can be collected from the Green India Organic Farms, a SPENBIO unit situated along the railway line, opposite Sector-3, Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad.
