Seasonal vegetable farming fetches huge earnings

Kanpur: The demand for vegetables changes as per the season. If anyone wants to earn a pocketful of money, then always grow vegetables that match the season. Currently, the winter season has started knocking on the door, and farmers should be ready to grow vegetables in their fields. The coming months of October and November are perfect to plant broccoli, peas, cauliflower, and spinach.

The demand for broccoli remains high during the winter. It is grown in India, usually in September and October. Farmers’ communities have an opportunity to fetch good earnings. Broccoli needs 5 to 6 hours of sunlight each day and becomes ready to harvest by the end of the following month.

Cauliflower is grown in October and November. Loamy or sandy soil is ideal for the cultivation of cauliflower. To get a better result, farmers need to plough the field 3 to 4 times and level it properly. It is advised to consult experts during the growing process.

The demand for fresh peas reaches its peak from November to February. Peas can be grown in one or two months, and farmers can earn a huge amount due to their demand in the market. Soil should be kept moist for the better result, and don’t plant peas in areas with heavy rain. Wet soil may turn hard, making it difficult for the plants to grow properly.

Spinach is replete with nutrient properties. Its demand is high due to health benefits. Spinach can be harvested several times and takes very little time to grow. Mild winter weather is ideal for spinach cultivation.
