Grow pomegranate at home with ease
Nasik: Pomegranate is full of nutrients. It is considered a boon for health, replete with antioxidants, vitamins C and K, and fiber. Growing pomegranate at home in a pot has become easy. You have to bring a health plant from a nursery. Experts advise planting a sapling rather than seeds. Take a large pot or drum for its plantation because its roots grow deep.
Never forget to drill some holes at the bottom of the pot or drum to allow drainage of excess water. Lime mix soil is considered ideal for the cultivation of this attractive fruit. To prepare the soil, add half a bucket of cocopeat, vermicompost, and cow dung, then mix them. Once the soil is ready, plant the sapling in it.

First, line the bottom of the pot with dry leaves, then add the prepared soil mixture on top. After filling the pot with soil, leave it for about a week before planting the sapling. After planting, water the plant once a day. Also, add organic fertilizers like cow dung once or twice a month.
If pomegranate sapling is being planted with the right method and care, it will start giving fruit in about 5 to 6 months. Plants should be kept in a sunny spot because they need a lot of sunlight for their proper growth.
You need to prune it the moment the plant grows up to 2 to 3 feet tall. It is essential to mix 5 ml of neem oil in a liter of water and spray it on the plants to protect them from pests and viruses. Never forget to provide proper sunlight for the ideal growth of the pomegranate plants.
