Women’s groups transform Bhimtal’s park into tourist haven

Nainital: Tourists always like to visit hill stations to enjoy their holidays. Nainital is one of the well-known destinations for the visitors; nearby the city is located Bhimtal, a new tourist attraction across the nation. Holidaymakers like to visit this place to feel the fragrance of different flowers in a newly cultivated Bhimtal’s park. The park’s beauty has been attracting a huge number of visitors.

Credit should be given to the local women’s groups; they have taken the responsibility of flower cultivation in the Irrigation Department’s park, enticing visitors’ attention. These women’s groups have already started gardening efforts to transform the area with vibrant flowers and succeeded in their mission.

Chandra Fartyal, Assistant Project Director, said that the responsibility for gardening the park has been handled by these women’s groups. She further added that a nursery is set to be established in the park in the near future so that tourists can visit and learn about flower cultivation.

Besides this, there is a plan to set up a market to support flower sales, providing a sustainable income to the flower cultivation women. Fartyal expressed that this initiative not only benefits the livelihood of the women’s groups but also positions Bhimtal as a unique tourist destination focused on flower farming.

During the Diwali holiday weekend, tourists flocked to Bhimtal from different parts of the country. Thousands of tourists arrived on holiday season to enjoy their trip. Several visitors proceeded to their respective homes after a refreshing weekend in Bhimtal. This huge flow of tourists highlights Bhimtal’s growing popularity among tourists to see its flower nurseries and landscape.
