Delhi’s air quality drops to poor on Thursday

New Delhi: Delhi’s air quality once again reached in the ‘poor’ category on Thursday, with the AQI touching at 263 at 9 am. It was 224 at 8 am on Wednesday, as per the data received from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). However, several areas of the city recorded “moderate” air quality. The air quality improved recently due to wind speeds of 8-10 km/h.

The Air Quality Early Warning System (AQEWS) has predicted that Delhi’s air quality is likely to remain in the “poor” category till Saturday. As per the Wednesday bulletin, it is stated that ‘The air quality is likely to stay ‘poor’ from Thursday to Saturday, with the outlook for the next six days also indicating ‘poor’ air quality.”

These are the categories set by CPCB of AQI levels: – 0–50: Good – 51–100: Satisfactory – 101–200: Moderate- 201–300: Poor – 301–400: Very Poor – Over 400: Severe.
