NDMC Inaugurates Two-day Winter Rose Show in collaboration with The Indian Rose Society
New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), in collaboration with the India Rose Society, organized a two-day Winter Rose Show at the India-Africa Friendship Rose Garden, Chanakyapuri on Saturday and Sunday. The event was inaugurated by NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Chahal on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
The Winter Rose Show showcases a stunning variety of roses and blooming potted plants, drawing participants and enthusiasts from across the country. Participants from organizations like NDMC, TERI, CPWD, PGI Chandigarh, and IARI-PUSA have exhibited roses of various types, including Hybrid Tea, Floribunda, Miniature, and Polyantha, which are the event’s highlights.
Apart from the floral displays, the event features engaging activities such as a painting competition for NDMC school students, exhibitions of artistic bouquets, garlands, and Ikebana, as well as a display of value-added rose products.
The NDMC has invited the public to enjoy the show from 1 PM to 5 PM on the first day and 10 AM to 5 PM on the second day. An NDMC spokesperson emphasized the importance of December for rose blooms, which require careful pruning, feeding, and spraying to flourish.
“This is a treat for rose lovers to witness the flowers in their full beauty,” said the spokesperson. The event also provides a platform for gardening enthusiasts to share tips and experiences in rose cultivation.
