Flower trader Amrit Saini explained that the sale of flowers remains high between December 31 and January 5; during this period, people generally purchase flowers to exchange New Year greetings with their near and dear ones. Another trader, Adnan, went on to say that most customers want to get fresh flowers, so in this case it is not possible to stock flowers because they are a perishable item and difficult to keep fresh and maintain their quality as well.
One of the flower vendors, Kishan Kumar, highlighted that flowers play a key role in home and office decorations. Roses keep a special place during the New Year greetings as people don’t care much about the price of the bouquet and flowers. Their only aim is to purchase them and then gift them to their close friends and relatives.
