PMC to host 43 annual horticulture event from Feb 15
Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to host its 43rd annual horticulture show on February 15 and 16, 2025, at Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Udyan, Shivajinagar. The event will be inaugurated by PMC Municipal Commissioner Dr Rajendra Bhosle, aiming to raise awareness among the people about the significance of trees, plants, and flowers in human life and encouraging the public to participate in horticulture activities.
The event has been divided into 12 sections and 210 sub-sections. During the two-day exhibition, different varieties of decorative plants, flowers, herbs, floral arrangements, garlands, fruits, vegetables, and bonsai will be displayed. Besides this, numerous other attractions, such as replicas of gardens, floral decorations, wood sculptures, paper crafts, and architectural models, will also be showcased by the PMC.

Noted organizations such as Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune Metro, NDA, CME, Forest Department, Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Environment Centre, and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation are expected to participate in this forthcoming expo.
PMC has organized some special programmes for the public, like the special thematic concept “My Vasundhara,” “Plant a Tree, Live a Tree.”. However, the main focus will be on the PMC’s 75th Amrit Mahotsav floral decorations. To encourage horticulture among people, PMC is set to hand a prize to the winner, and it will take place on February 16 at 5pm at Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Udyan.
Ashok D. Korpade, Chief Park Superintendent & Member Secretary, Tree Authority, PMC, said, “Everyone can visit the exhibition free, and it will remain open from 8am to 8:30pm. Visitors will get an opportunity to visit stalls and see different species of flowers, fruit tree seedlings, gardening materials, seeds, and fertilizers.”
