Farmers learn about commercial floriculture at Kisan Goshti

Doda: The Department of Floriculture, Parks, and Gardens recently organized a one-day Kisan Goshti (interactive meet) at Trown Panchayat in Block Bhalla. The event aimed to educate farmers about commercial floriculture and address challenges in cultivating aromatic crops. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Floriculture Department and local farmers in promoting sustainable agricultural practices. This association is likely to improve the livelihoods of farmers.

Assistant Floriculture Officer Pawan Kumar led discussions on commercial floriculture in the district. He provided valuable insights into the cultivation of aromatic crops like lavender and rosemary, highlighting their economic benefits. Farmers attending the event shared their experiences and challenges in growing marigold and lavender, seeking expert guidance on best practices.
