Farmers need to grow three vegetables in March for huge profit

Lucknow: As March is not far away, farmers need to ensure a good harvest in this month so that they can increase their income. This month is crucial for the cultivation of three vegetables, consumed in high quantity in the country. Farmers should concentrate on the farming of bottle gourd, okra, and cucumber. All three are high-yielding, which can fetch good income to farmers.

The demand for bottle gourd remains high throughout the year, especially in summer. It grows quickly. March and April are the ideal months for sowing this vegetable. During summer it requires irrigation every 5-7 days. For a good yield, farmers should use organic manure, cow dung manure, and nitrogen-based fertilizers. The crop is ready for harvest within 50-60 days. Farmers can achieve a yield of 300-400 quintals per hectare, making it a highly profitable option.

Okra is one of the most popular and highly profitable vegetables for farmers, requiring less water; February to April is suitable weather for its ideal growth. Well-drained, light, loamy soil is best for its cultivation. Irrigation should be done every 7-10 days.

Cucumber is consumed at all the parties and functions. It is being generally used in salads, beneficial for health as well. It should be sown in March to April. It requires irrigation every 5-6 days during summer. It bears fruit within 40-45 days. If proper care is taken, then farmers can produce 150-200 quintals per hectare.

To get successful results, farmers need to adopt proper farming methods, giving better income to farmers. Therefore, March is an ideal month for starting the harvest of such vegetables.
