The association was founded on March 9, 1981, by Dr. Leila Dhanda and Dr. Hussain Tayebbhoy. It has played a key role in the promotion of the art of bonsai in India. Currently, the association has more than 200 active members, guiding and educating bonsai lovers.

A bonsai is a miniaturized living tree grown in a shallow container, displaying the natural beauty of a full-sized tree found in the wild. It originated in China in 200 B.C.; however, it took the art from 200 A.D. in Japan. Several things like patience, pruning, watering, and discipline are needed for growing and giving artistic shape to bonsai.

The forthcoming exhibition would be a wonderful opportunity for bonsai and gardening enthusiasts to witness the beauty of bonsai art. It is expected that a large number of visitors would turn up to witness the unique show.
