Will This Greenery Achieved During G20 Summit Continue to Exist?

New Delhi: While preparing for G20 summit in Delhi, the government started beautification of Delhi by adding greenery to its urban landscape. For this, colorful lights, fountains and flower pots were placed on the sides of its roads. This made Delhi look very clean and attractive.

Now, since the summit is over, the question arises, whether these flower pots and plantations will continue to remain at its place or will be removed. How long can these plants be placed at its location.

All related departments are making persistent efforts to continue this beautiful greenery in the city. Apart from main routes and roundabouts, they are also planning to remove the flowers from other locations of Delhi which will be placed in the nurseries of these departments.

More than 5 lakh pots were placed in the streets of Delhi, of which, Forest Department has planted around 2.5 lakh pots making it the largest contributor. Flower pots were used to decorate the area from the technical area of IGI Terminal to Pragati Maidan. Many public places, roundabouts, main crossroads and area under flyovers were specifically decorated with these plants.

According to the sources, these plants will be removed from the streets and placed in the nurseries of government offices and departments. They are planning to work towards it, this week itself. NDMC has said that the cleanliness and greenery achieved while preparing for G20 will be continued for which the gardening and related departments will take care of these plants. Also the flower pots will be removed from the inappropriate places to avoid any kind of inconvenience during commutation.
