MP farmer turns tomato farming into a multi-crore business

Bhopal: A farmer from Madhya Pradesh named Amit Jain has astonished everyone through his tomato cultivation. He started tomato cultivation on his 20 bighas of land. He adopted innovative techniques in harvesting; instead of planting all at one time, he sowed tomatoes in groups every 15 days from June to get fruit on a regular basis. His method turned into reality, which allowed him to sell tomatoes regularly, and he cultivated tomatoes till March; after that, he planted different crops.

Amit’s main focus was on hybrid tomato varieties that give higher production and longer shelf life. He sold his crop in local as well as distant markets and got better profits. He adopted mulching techniques, used organic manure, and applied advanced fertilizers like Gromore Nano DAP for the better yield of his crop.

He adopted scientific methods for controlling pests and fungicides. He consulted experts for the prevention of diseases in his crop. He used drip irrigation on his farm, which played a key role in his successful farming. The technique helped him to get bumper production.

Currently, Amit has made tomato farming a highly profitable business. He has been earning Rs 2 to Rs 3 crore per bigha. He attributed his success to agribusiness, now generating an annual turnover of Rs 7 to 8 crore.

He is now a role model for local farmers, inspiring them to treat farming as a profitable business and adopt modern techniques to increase their incomes.
