Plan to Set Up Nursery in Delhi in an Area of 25 Acres
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Saturday inspected a 25-acre horticulture plot in the metropolis where there are plans to build a “world-class” nursery and eco-tourism hub.
The proposed nursery would not only serve as a common and comprehensive resource pool to meet the horticulture needs of Delhi but would also be a preferred eco-tourism destination for residents and tourists.
While inspecting 25 acres of land at Khoja Wala Bagh, Ashok Vihar, Saxena directed the DDA to submit the action plan within a week. The Lt Governor was accompanied by special officers and commissioners of MCD, the DDA vice-chairman and other senior officers of the departments concerned.
The objective is to prevent the degradation of unutilized land, prevent encroachment on land and create a green space where the various principles of sustainable development can coexist.
This nursery will have greenery, a cafeteria, walkways, and public facilities which will become a centre of attraction for the people of the city and tourists.
