“Vishwaguru Basaveshwar’s Spectacular Tableau Takes Center Stage at Lal Bagh Flower Show in Bangalore”
New Delhi: A flower show was organized on the occasion of Republic Day at Lal Bagh in Bengaluru. The exhibition was themed on the life of the 12th century poet and social reformer Vishwaguru Basaveshwar and other writers and saints of that time.
Saint Basaveshwara was a great philosopher and social reformer. This flower show was inaugurated on January 18 by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Addressing the flower lovers, he said that this flower exhibition will inspire people to protect the environment. He further said that the great saint Basaveshwar had made important efforts to create a casteless society. People will be able to remember Baba Basaveshwar through this flower show. He has been recognized as a “cultural leader” by the state government.
The Annual Flower Exhibition was inaugurated on the occasion of Republic Day on 18 January 2024 at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore. The flower show has also organized competitions including many posters as well as ikebana and flower decoration. The entry fee was fixed at ₹80 for adults and ₹30 for children.
Bengaluru flower show expert Dr. Krishna Chauhan said that during 10 days about 15 lakh people visited the flower show. There were many types of flowers and plants in the flower show. At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also participated along with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. It was concluded on 28 January.
Flower show expert Dr. Krishna Chauhan while talking to Nursery Today said that in Lalbagh flower show, people visited flowers like zinnia, gerbera, geranium, chrysanthemum, rose, marigold etc. and more than 4 lakh cut flower structures were made here. Which attracted the guests.
