A Glimpse of G-20 Countries will be Seen in the Flower Festival of Delhi’s Central Park on 11 & 12 March 2023 

After organizing Food and Tulip Festival in view of G-20, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has now started preparations for Flower Festival. It will be organized on March 11 and 12 at Central Park in Connaught Place. In this, G-20 countries have also been invited along with other departments and institutions including Delhi Government and Municipal Corporation. For its preparation in Central Park, NDMC has prepared a different pyramid of flowers.

The objective of the festival is to showcase the vibrancy and colorful performances of the G-20 member and guest countries in the capital of India. NDMC vice-chairman Mr. Satish Upadhyay said Delhi’s major tourist attraction is commercial. Every day a large number of tourists and citizens visit. This flower festival is an opportunity for promotion and awareness among the general public about G-20 members and guest countries. In this, flowering plants of different colors and varieties will be displayed in different forms, installations and structures.

NDMC will display various flowering plants showcasing the diversity of the Indian subcontinent. He told that guest countries of G-20 have also been invited for this festival. In this, NDMC will provide them space, free of cost. The visiting country can display different varieties of flowers and other potted plants, either produced locally or in their country.

Central Public Works Department, Delhi Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi Jal Board, Noida and Ghaziabad Authority have been invited along with NDMC in this flower festival. In addition, various state buildings and houses present in Lutyens’ Delhi have also been invited to participate.

A painting competition will also be organized at the venue among school children on the theme of flora and fauna. Various sections of colorful and vibrant flowers like dahlias, bougainvillea, foliage plants, bonsai, cactus and potted plants, succulent plants, hanging baskets, floral figures, tray gardens and floral arrangements etc. will be displayed in different forms in the festival.

The festival will be organized at NDMC’s Central Park from 10 am to 7 pm. The entry of citizens will be free. Entry will be from the front gate of D Block of Connaught Place. People can also buy their favorite plants and flowers from various stalls. On the occasion, NDMC will also organize musical and cultural programs for on-site entertainment at the Central Park Amphitheater for the visitors visiting the exhibition.
