Amla plants need watering, sunlight, and pruning for better results
New Delhi: Indian gooseberry, better known as amla, is replete with many health benefits. The good news is that amla plants can be grown at home. Anyone can plant it on their balcony, rooftop, or even in a pot. Growing amla takes a lot of time, so experts advise sowing healthy saplings so that fruit can get in less time.
To get better results, make sure to prepare the soil first before planting. It is considered that black soil and field soil are ideal for growing amla. Manure, vermicompost, and nutrients like NPK or neem cake should be mixed to get healthy fruits and in large quantity.
This plant needs sunlight in abundance. Therefore, it is essential to put them in a place where plants can get a good amount of sun. Amla needs water regularly; soil should be kept moist for better growth. Shelter is necessary to protect the amla plant from heavy rain, strong winds, or excessive heat as well.

It is absolutely important to clip the plant on a regular basis to keep it healthy. Pesticides can be used if you think that the growth of the plant is not adequate. Never use too many pesticides because they may harm the plant. Usually, amla plants start giving fruits after 4 to 6 years.
It has an abundance of Vitamin C, which makes the immune system more potent and improves skin health as well. Amla contains antioxidants that help the digestion system, keep the cholesterol level in control, and it is a boon for the heart.
