Aravali Green Wall Project to be Launched on March 25
The Central Government has prepared the Aravalli Green Wall Project, also known as the Green Wall of India. It will go live on March 25. The project will be launched by Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav. Gurugram will host the inauguration ceremony.
At the PWD Rest House in Gurugram on Friday, the Union Minister himself met with senior Ministry officials, Haryana’s Additional Chief Secretary (Forest) Vineet Garg, and the District Deputy Commissioners of Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh, and Mahendragarh to discuss the preparations.
From Delhi to Gujarat, a wall of greenery is planned, according to the project. It will be 1400 kilometers long. On each side of the Aravalli hill, five kilometers of saplings will be planted. It is believed that the wall of greenery is no where shorter on earth. This wall will prevent the dusty winds from Rajasthan from reaching Delhi and NCR.
The project’s completion by 2030 has been set as a goal. According to Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, this project will significantly lower pollution levels. He requested that the officers treat this project like a mission. There is a possibility of expanding the desert’s scope because there is less vegetation in the Aravalli hill region. The Aravalli Green Wall Project has been prepared keeping this in mind.
