Assam minister reviews agriculture and horticulture progress 

Dispur: Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora chaired a crucial review meeting with the top officials of the Agriculture Department at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati to take stock of the ongoing progress in the agricultural and horticultural sectors in the state. The agenda of the meeting was on the improvement of farmers’ overall condition, and discussion also took place on how to implement the government schemes and policies effectively.

Bora said that agriculture plays a key role in the economy of Assam. He further added that the state government has been working relentlessly for the growth and prosperity of the important sectors like agriculture and horticulture. The minister also focused on the forthcoming public event to be held in Guwahati on January 9, in which Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also attend.

The upcoming event will highlight the achievements made by the state Agriculture Department and steps that need to be taken for future initiatives. Bora urged the officials to coordinate with each other and be ready for the event.

Besides this, Bora greets the Agriculture and Horticulture Department officials on New Year, appreciating their dedication and devotion to the welfare of farmers. He asked them to continue their hard work to make the agriculture and horticulture sectors more potent in the coming year.

Top brass of the Agriculture Department were present during the meeting, including Secretary Aruna Rajoria, Agriculture Production Commissioner Gunajit Kashyap, Horticulture Director Nripen Chandra Das, and several other senior officials of the department.
