At Farm Fest 30,000 Flowering Plants to be Displayed

One of the main attractions of Farm Fest-2023, which will take place on the AFT Ground from February 10 to 12, will be a display of approximately 30,000 flowering plants brought from various parts of the country as well as the most recent technological advancements in horticulture.

According to Minister for Agriculture C. Djeacoumar the festival would bring together 30,000 flowering plants from Puducherry, Hosur, Bengaluru and foreign countries.
Stalls would be put up by the institutions such as the National Horticulture Board; the Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology, Thanjavur; the Sugarcane Research Station, Cuddalore; Vegetable Research Station, Palur; Central Institute of Agri Engineering; Agriculture Technology Management Agency; and other reputed institutes, to educate people on the latest advances in the farming sector.

A demonstration of rooftop and vertical gardening would take place. A number of nurseries would set up stalls to sell ornamental and fruit seedlings.

Throughout the festival, competitions and cultural events were also planned by the Agriculture Department. He stated that food courts would be an additional draw.
