BDC’s Meeting Focused on Horticulture, Water And Roads
Issues of water, roads and horticulture etc. dominated the meeting of Kshetra Panchayat Bironkhal. In the Block Development Council meeting chaired by Birkhal chief Rajesh Kandari, other public representatives including the block chief expressed their displeasure with the officials of NH, Jal Sansthan and Drinking Water Corporation and demanded to improve the quality of roads and drinking water. NH officials assured that the poor quality of the road will be checked and improved.
In the meeting, the village heads said that most of the drinking water connections given under Jal Jeevan Mission are old lines and their capacity is less. SDM Ajayveer Singh said that there is a need to improve the works of the Jal Jeevan Mission. He also asked Jal Sansthan to supply it with filters for clean drinking water supply. The public representatives demanded to prepare the nursery of horticulture at the local level and to set up a collection centre as per the requirement. So that better seedlings and seeds can be made available to the cultivators at the local level and they can get reasonable prices for the products at the local level itself. Officers and employees of various departments including BDO Naresh Chandra Juyal, Executive Engineer in charge of Energy Corporation, and Shailendra Singh Bisht were present in the meeting.
