Second day of Bengaluru National Horticulture Fair, About 20,000 Visitors Turn out on Day One

New Delhi: On the opening day of the National Horticulture Fair 2024, Bengaluru witnessed an overwhelming turnout as close to 20,000 people visited in the event which was inaugurated on Tuesday, March 5, the three-day National Horticulture Fair was hosted by Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR).

The aims of the fair was to promote the latest developments in horticulture showcase innovative techniques, and provide a platform for networking and knowledge exchange among stakeholders in the industry. The theme of this year’s fair is “Nextgen technology-led horticulture for sustainable development,” reflecting the growing importance of sustainable practices in agriculture and horticulture.

Farmers from 20 states, 50 ICAR institutes and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK), and many other government organizations, NGOs, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) and start-ups are participating in the fair.

Visitors to the fair were treated to a wide range of attractions, including exhibitions featuring the latest horticultural products and technologies, demonstrations of modern farming techniques, and interactive sessions with experts in the field. Several stalls were set up by horticulture departments, research institutions, and private companies, showcasing a variety of plants, seeds, fertilizers, and gardening equipment.

The fair also featured a series of seminars and workshops on topics such as organic farming, water conservation and pest management, aimed at educating farmers and gardeners about best practices. Visitors were also able to attend live demonstrations of various horticultural techniques, providing them with practical insights into modern farming methods.

The National Horticulture Fair 2024 has been a resounding success, drawing large crowds and generating significant interest in horticulture and related fields.
