Malaviya Memorial flower exhibition 2024 begins at BHU
Varanasi: The three-day Malaviya Memorial Flower Exhibition–2024 commenced on Wednesday at Malaviya Bhavan, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), to celebrate the birth anniversary of the university’s founder, Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya.
The event was inaugurated by BHU Rector Prof. Sanjay Kumar and Varanasi Forest Conservator Ravi Kumar Singh. They were joined by key officials, including Prof. Arun Kumar Singh, Registrar and Chairman of the exhibition; Prof. Sarfaraz Alam, Member Secretary; and Kalyan Barman, Co-Coordinator and Horticulture Expert.

Prominent guests like Prof. A.K. Nema, Dean of Students; Prof. S.V.S. Raju, Director of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences; Prof. S.N. Sankhwar, Director of the Institute of Medical Sciences; and Ashwini Kumar Deshwal, Senior Horticulture Officer, also graced the occasion.
This year’s exhibition has witnessed an impressive turnout, with 786 participants showcasing approximately 7,452 exhibits across various categories, surpassing last year’s numbers. The vibrant display includes a variety of flowers and plants, highlighting creativity and horticultural expertise.
The exhibition is open to the public until 6:00 PM on Friday, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature and the dedication of participants. It serves as a tribute to Mahamana Malaviya’s vision and commitment to education and cultural growth. Visitors can enjoy a mesmerizing blend of colors and creativity, making the event a must-visit for flower enthusiasts and the general public alike.
