Agartala: In an attempt to boost agri-based products with the help of horticulture crops, a special training programmes was organized at the Panchayet Community Hall in Charilam, Sepahijala district, to help farmers increase their incomes through modern farming techniques. Basix Krishi Samruddhi Limited (BKSL), a national-level organization, organized the event with support from the Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Dimapur, Nagaland.
The training took place on April 16; the main focus was on the use of advanced horticultural methods, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), sustainable agricultural farming, and good market facilities. These initiatives will help farmers get better prices for their products, which will boost their profits as well.

BKSL representatives stressed that farmers need to boost their productivity and profits, which is possible through modern farming technologies. During the event, around 50 farmers from the region were present. They listened to the experts sincerely, showing great interest, promising whatever knowledge they have gathered here will be used in their respective farms.
One of the CIH officials further added that the event will not only support farmers to increase their incomes but also boost Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the promotion of eco-friendly and economically strong agriculture policies.
With the organization of this training event, the Tripura farmers got a chance to know about the advantages of modern farming; they learned about using modern tools in agriculture. Such initiatives will empower the region’s farmers in boosting their yield and making them economically sound.
