Bloom to boom: Two sisters earn millions in flower business
Bengaluru: Festivals without flowers are beyond imagination. Flowers play a key role in most festivals, as is the case with Diwali. Currently, it is a source of a billion-dollar business. Here is the story of two sisters named Yashoda and Rhea Karuturi who started a flower business, and after that they gradually became rich, earning crores in a year. Never forget their determination and dedication in their works.
Their father, Ram Karuturi, had rose farms in Kenya, Ethiopia, and India. Therefore, flower business was in their blood. Both the sisters are inspired by their father’s background. They decided to deliver fresh flowers to people’s homes, fetching them grand success. In the beginning, they invested Rs 10 lakh and started Hoova, which means “flower” in Kannada.

They had a team of 50 flower-growing farmers living in Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. Both the sisters used to purchase flowers directly from farmers. The important point is that they have the technique to keep them disease-free, ensuring that the flowers remain fresh for almost 15 days.
Currently, Yashoda and Rhea’s business has reached the pinnacle. Their flowers are available on their website, along with other popular platforms such as Big Basket, Milk Basket, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and so on. They are earning Rs. 8 crore annually; their love for flowers gradually made them entrepreneurs, inspiring others to venture into the flower business.
