CAQM asks for quick resolution of public air quality complaints

New Delhi: The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) urged the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and other related authorities in the National Capital Region (NCR) to give full attention to public complaints about air quality and try to solve them. This is an important issue because air quality worsens in Delhi during the winter months, starting in October. The aim of CAQM is to combat air pollution in the national capital to save the people from pollution-related diseases.

In its directive, CAQM pointed out for the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and DPCC to update the complaints of common men, especially those received through social media. The CAQM went on to say that it is the duty of the state pollution boards to raise public awareness about how a man can file complaints.

As per the CAQM’s press release, the authority responsible for addressing a complaint must also post updates or reasons for any delays on the same social media platform, tagging both CAQM and CPCB. By doing this, the Commission wants to monitor how quickly and effectively authorities respond to air quality issues. This initiative aims to make the process more accountable and transparent.

CAQM has been relentlessly in touch with the state governments and agencies throughout the Delhi NCR to improve enforcement and monitor the situation. CPCB and other agencies will manage the air quality; CAQM is ready to find out the solutions and collaborates with other agencies to combat the air pollution issue in the national capital.
