CM Atishi inspects pollution hotspot Anand Vihar
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, along with Environment Minister Gopal Rai, conducted an inspection at Anand Vihar to know the ground reality about surging pollution levels in this region. Of late, it has been identified as a pollution hotspot in the national capital. The Anand Vihar bus terminal and nearby areas have been facing serious pollution problems owing to the arrival of diesel buses from neighboring states and ongoing construction for the RRTS.
Atishi said that Anand Vihar has become a pollution hotspot, but the Delhi government is taking strict actions to reduce pollution in the area. She mentioned the use of anti-smog guns around the bus terminal, road repairs, and clearing encroachments at traffic congestion points to improve air quality.

Delhi CM also noted that Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is worsening, and the government is committed to fighting pollution throughout the city. “We are running a dust control drive with 99 teams inspecting construction sites across Delhi. Additionally, 325 anti-smog guns are being deployed across the city,” she said, assuring that all relevant agencies are working hard to solve the problem.
She said that Anand Vihar is a crucial area because buses from Uttar Pradesh and other places arrive here. Therefore, the AQI of this region is badly affected. Atishi also discussed ongoing efforts, including the continuous use of anti-smog guns and maintaining moist roads to control dust pollution.
