CM Mohan Yadav stresses district-wise mapping to boost horticulture
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stressed district-wise mapping of horticulture crops across the state. He urged that universities and government departments need to utilize their unused land for the development of gardens. He also emphasized that nurseries should be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. He went on to say that it is essential to organize workshops and fairs in every district with the focus on horticulture and food processing.
The CM said that farmers who do excellent work in the horticulture and agriculture sectors should be awarded. He gave these ideas during a review meeting of the Horticulture and Food Processing Department. On this occasion Minister Narayan Singh Kushwah, Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, and Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Rajora were also present.

Neemuch and Mandsaur are likely to host a horticulture industry conclave next month with the focus on medicinal farming. At present, horticulture farming has been taking place in 22.72 lakh hectares in the state, with the goal to increase it to 33.91 lakh hectares in the next five years.
The CM urged that the coordination between departments is essential for proper growth in horticulture and food processing. He said that an experts’ panel should be formed to find out the employment opportunities in this sector. At last, Mohan Yadav inspired farmers that they will get fair prices for their hard work and produce. He urges setting up proper cold storage facilities at suitable places and providing information to farmers about market rates of mandis.
