Colourful cauliflower: A new innovation from Bihar’s farmers
Patna: Innovation always takes place in India by the farmers. In the last couple of years, some special experiment has developed in Bihar, growing colourful cauliflower, raising a new hope for the state horticulture farmers. Currently, farmers have been growing cauliflower in vibrant colours like yellow, purple, and pink. The cultivation of purple and yellow cauliflower has started several years ago in France and Britain.
With the growth of new varieties, farmers from Bihar have added something special to the horticulture sector. colourful cauliflower looks attractive, and it is packed with nutritious values as well, making it a favourite vegetable for health-conscious people. There are three main types of colorful cauliflower: Yellow cauliflower (“carotina”) is rich in vitamin A, which improves vision and the immune system. It suppresses nutritional deficiencies, considering it ideal for children and elderly people.

Purple cauliflower (“Anthocyanin”). It is replete with antioxidants that reduce free radicals in the body. It plays a key role in the prevention of diseases like cancer, improves the digestive system, and strengthens bones due to the high calcium chloride content in it. However, pink cauliflower is, to some extent, sweet in flavour and packed with several essential vitamins, important for human beings.
The cultivation of colorful cauliflower has brought new hope among the farmers of Bihar. This will accelerate the innovation technique in the state, providing an opportunity for farmers to diversify their crops along with fetching more income.
