CSIR-IIIM Jammu organizes Annual Flower Show
Jammu: The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, organized the Annual Flower Show cum Floritech Startup Conclave at its main campus. The event successfully brought floriculture enthusiasts, farmers, startups, and experts onto one platform. The experts shared their knowledge with farmers on how to promote sustainable agricultural practices.
The chief guest, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal & Dean of Govt. Medical College, Jammu, praised the event for not only showcasing beautiful flowers and floral products but also creating a platform for different sections of society to collaborate. He emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation as suggested by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.

Dr. C.L. Sharma, Director of Horticulture, Jammu, highlighted various government schemes available for flower growers and floriculture startups. He appreciated the institute’s efforts in reviving this important activity.
In his presidential address, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director of CSIR-IIIM, spoke about the institute’s pioneering work in drug discovery for diseases like cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s. He also shed light on CSIR’s Aroma Mission and Floriculture Mission, which aim to improve rural livelihoods and boost the economy through sustainable farming practices.
The Floriculture Farmers Conclave is a remarkable place where industry experts discuss at length and breadth with farmers about modern farming methods, value to floriculture, and how government supports for rural development.
The Annual Flower Show at CSIR-IIIM got underway in 1961, since then, it has been promoting its awareness campaign about floriculture, gardening, and environmental sustainability.
