New Delhi: Delhi’s Environment Minister, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, made it clear that strict action will be taken against illegal dhabas and meat shops operating without permission in the national capital. During his visit to Rajouri Garden on Friday, he found that several such establishments were functioning without approval from the civic body. They are responsible for pollution as well. Sirsa directed civic officials to demolish these illegal outlets and disconnect their water and electricity connections.

He said these steps would help reduce pollution and improve the city’s air quality. The minister further added that several GPS-enabled water tankers would be dispatched to areas where pollution levels are high. These tankers will spray water on roads and construction sites to settle dust. They will be used wherever dust pollution is severe. The movement and activity of the tankers will be closely monitored every day, he said.

Sirsa went on to say that the Delhi government has been taking all essential steps to bar old and polluting vehicles from entering the city. This move is likely to improve Delhi’s air quality, allowing residents to breathe a sigh of relief. The government’s main focus is to restore greenery in the city and reduce pollution levels. This initiative will help people lead healthier lives. Time will reveal the real impact.
