New Delhi: Both state and central government aims to improve the economic condition of the farmers. Many schemes are being launched to serve this purpose. Bihar government is also participating actively to strengthen its farmers. Horticulture Development Mission Scheme is one such step towards this motivation. Bihar government is giving up to 50% grant for the cultivation of bananas under this scheme.
Tissue Culture Technique
Tissue culture is a technique in which fragments of plants are cultured and grown in a laboratory. Cultivating through this technique saves the crop from any kind of disease. Tissue culture technique takes less time for the production of the crop.
Cultivating banana through this technique yields more profit in less time. It takes around one and a half year in the production of banana whereas, using this technique banana can be grown in less than 1 year. Five to six dozen bananas can be grown in one plant which makes banana cultivation a profitable business for the farmers.
Subsidy Amount
Under the National Horticulture Development Mission Scheme, the Bihar government is giving the subsidy on many fruits including mango, guava, litchi etc. and of up to 50% per hectare to the farmers for banana cultivation. The government has fixed the unit cost of banana in one hectare at Rs 1,25,000. On cultivating these fruits, a subsidy of Rs 62,500 is being given by the government.
Required Documents
You need to submit farmer’s Aadhar card, a passport size photograph, land rent receipt and fill your mobile number, farmer registration number and email id.
