Dutch experts appreciate Barabanki’s farmers for polyhouse farming

Barabanki: Several horticulture experts from the Netherlands recently visited Barabanki to witness the Naveen Mandi Parishad. They were accompanied by top agricultural officials of the district. Some experts interacted with local farmers and gathered information about the productivity and market rates of various vegetables, such as tomatoes, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, and beetroot. They also engaged with traders and commission agents to understand the mandi’s business.

The Dutch experts held a meeting with the FPO (Farmer Producer Organization) and discussed how the mandi has been functioning, along with the challenges faced by farmers. At the end, they met with the District Magistrate and discussed ways to further develop horticultural crops in the district. The Dutch team expressed interest in establishing a Center of Excellence for horticulture and assured full cooperation in this regard.

The Dutch delegation also visited the polyhouse farms of local farmers, who are growing vegetables and fruits using modern techniques. They appreciated the farmers for adopting advanced methods in farming.

This visit is considered a positive step and is expected to further modernize horticultural practices in the district, unveiling several opportunities for the farming community. The farmers received significant encouragement to adopt modern farming methods to increase yield and income.
