Expensive flowers: Nature’s rare wonders

New Delhi: Flowers always fascinate people from all walks of life due to their beauty, fragrance, and some endless meaning. Most flowers are available at affordable prices and easily available. However, some of them are rare species, difficult to find, and extremely expensive beyond the expectation of a common man. Such flowers are known for their unique feature, difficulty in growing, and limited availability.

Here is the list of some of the rare flowers that are available in a limited number globally.

The Kadupul Flower is one of the most priceless flowers in the world. It blooms only at night and fades before dawn; it is difficult to pluck. Its delicate white petals and enchanting scent make it truly special.

Rose breeder David Austin developed the Juliet, considered one of the most expensive flowers ever created. These peach coloured flowers took 15 years in their development, first introduced at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2006.

The Shenzhen Nongke Orchid was developed by scientists in China, taking over eight years, blooming only once every 4–5 years, selling at auction at very high price.

The Gold of Kinabalu Orchid took 15 years in its development. It grows only in Malaysia’s Kinabalu National Park, one of the rarest flowers globally.

Such flowers are eye-catching, but they are rare in their growth. These flowers were created by renowned botanists or scientists and took several years in their creation.
