Fantasy Kingdom made from glass scrap to come up at Lajpat Nagar @ Rs 3.51 Cr
New Delhi: Buoyed by the success of Waste to Wonder, Bharat Darshan and Shaheedi Park made from iron scrap, and these Parks becoming a source of revenue generation, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has chalked out a plan to set up a park using glass scrap.
The Corporation will spend Rs 3.51 crore on this park. For this, it will use the scrap collected from vehicles and buildings. A 25 feet high glass entrance will be made so that the specialty of the park could be seen from a distance. In this, replicas of animals like lion, bear, deer, peacock, crocodile, elephant will be made from glass only. Lights will be used to color the shapes inside the glass.

The Corporation has invited tender for this park to be built near Lady Shri Ram College located in Lajpat Nagar. A plan has been prepared to build this park by the name of Fantasy Kingdom. In this park, artefacts of animals, birds and flowers are to be made from glass scrap. When this park is ready, it will be the first such park in NCR.
A senior official of the Corporation said that we are excited with the success of making Waste to Art Park made from iron scrap. So now we are going to build a park from glass scrap. This will be a unique park of NCR, where artefacts of animals and birds will be made of glass. As earlier parks have developed into tourist destinations, it is expected that this park will become even more popular.
He further said that Bharat Darshan and Waste to Wonder Park are becoming source of revenue. Even though entry fees are charged, citizens come to visit these parks. Not only this, the corporation has also earned an income of more than Rs 25 crore from these two parks in just three-four years. Therefore the Corporation is also laying emphasis on such parks.
