Government to Give 75% Subsidy on Papaya Cultivation

New Delhi: Central as well as state governments are consistently working for the benefit and well-being of the farmers. There are number of schemes launched by them in order to promote agricultural businesses among the farmers. Bihar government has come with another such scheme to provide subsidy on papaya cultivation for the farmers of the state to help them get good production and profit.

Under the Integrated Horticulture Development Scheme, Bihar government is giving up to 75% subsidy to the farmers on papaya cultivation. That means, if the farmer has to spend Rs 60,000 for papaya cultivation in one acre of field, then he will receive subsidy of Rs 45,000 from the government.

Also, if your crop gets damaged due to any disease or bad weather, then you can also avail the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to protect it. For this, you will have to pay only 5 percent premium for your papaya crop.

Papaya is rich in nutrients and is consumed to prevent many diseases, which is why it is popular among the people and is in great demand in the market.

Who is eligible?

Framers from Bihar state are eligible to take benefits from this scheme for papaya cultivation.  The selected farmer should have irrigation facility available and farmers should agree to adopt modern crop production techniques and drip irrigation.

Important documents required for the application, farmer’s land ownership certificate, permanent resident certificate, documents of irrigation means, Aadhar Card and Aadhar Link Mobile Number, copy of bank pass book, passport size photo of the applicant and certificate of minor, marginal, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, if applicable.
