Guntur Farmer Employs 20-30 Women Every Year to Boost His Floriculture Yields With Drones
Pallaprolu Bapireddy and his wife Kanakadurga, residing in Kaza in the Guntur district adopted technology in farming because of the high cost of agricultural labour and the lack of available labourers. This helped them in employing 20-30 women throughout the year.
Primarily, the farmer used the drones for spraying in order to reduce farm labour expenses when he cultivated the jasmine flowers on eight acres of rented land throughout the previous five years with no specialized foundation or help.
Due to the cited reasons, the farmer began exploring about the technologies and drones on social media. After he bought the drones, 15-day training was also provided to him on how to operate the drone. Now, his wife could also use the drone autonomously. Women who work in the horticultural sector would receive a daily income ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 depending on how much based on their work.
Moreover, in light of the fact that there was no power nearby, the farmer utilized a solar-oriented pumping framework to give water to the flowers/ plants. Summertime was always a water deficiency season. By any chance there were power sources, the flower production would have increased. And he would have employed more women.
Due to the non-availability of water, he was forced to dry some parts of his land.
