Haryana CM unveils beneficial schemes for horticulture farmers
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiled numerous beneficial schemes for horticulture farmers, developing special markets for farmers. He is looking to adopt the Israeli agricultural techniques and said that the state government is ready to send young farmers to Israel for getting advanced training in horticulture. He further added that the climate of Haryana and Israel is similar. Therefore, Israeli technology is likely to be beneficial for farmers.
Speaking at the Mega Vegetable Expo in Gharaunda, he said these techniques will be integrated into fruit, vegetable, and flower farming. The government has decided to enhance the agriculture budget by 19.2% to support farmers. Saini also stated that a new hostel and seminar hall will be constructed at the Centre of Excellence for Vegetables. On this occasion he facilitated 74 farmers for their immense contribution in the horticulture sector.

Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana is set to help 25,000 farmers to receive Rs 7,600 crore as financial support for 21 horticultural crops. Farmers are also being given 50%-85% subsidies for the establishment of polyhouses, net houses, and walking tunnels.
The Haryana government is ready to invest above Rs 510 crore to develop 140 fruit and vegetable collection centers, each with a Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO). There will be the arrangement of integrated pack houses, which will help horticulture farmers.
It is also planned to develop new markets for apples, flowers, spices, and international fruits and vegetables. Apart from this, special centers for litchi, strawberry, and date palm cultivation are likely to be established in coming times.
Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana inspired farmers to adopt innovative techniques in horticulture farming to improve yield and their incomes as well.
