Haryana Horticulture Department to train farmers in floriculture

Chandigarh: The Haryana government is gearing up to take to strong steps to uplift women, youth, and farmers by promoting crop diversification along with traditional farming. In this regard, the state’s Horticulture Department has planned to provide training to farmers in flower farming, because it is a highly profitable sector. The department thinks that this will boost the income of farmers.

It is confirmed that a special training camp will be held in the first week of March to support the initiative, taking place at the Center of Excellence for Floriculture and Seed Production Technology in Munimpur, Jhajjar district, from March 3 to March 7. Only 10 selected farmers will be trained in modern flower farming techniques. Additionally, they will receive information about various horticulture schemes that can benefit them financially.

Farmers interested in joining the training camp will learn advanced techniques in floriculture and its business aspects. To apply for the training, farmers must register online on the official website of the Horticulture Department of Haryana.

The applicant must be from Haryana and February 28 is the last date for registration. No applications will be accepted after 2 PM on that day. The list of selected farmers will also be published on the same day.
