Hi-tech School of Gardening to Open at Roshanara Bagh

New Delhi: After New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), now Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is working towards starting School of Gardening. MCD has chosen Roshanara Bagh for this purpose. It plans to start the school in 3-4 months. This project aims to train its newly appointed employees on how to take care of plants and gardening related techniques. Along with this, the employees of local Civic and Horticulture Department of NCR and nearby states will also be trained. This will also be made accessible to the common man.

The main focus of the School of Gardening is to up skill and equip the employees of Civic and Horticulture Department of all gardening related works and techniques. According to a senior official of MCD, as new machineries and technologies related to gardening are being introduced, this School of Gardening aims to train the workers on how to operate these machines and employ it for gardening purposes. This will give more profitable results than before.

He also added that Roshanara Bagh has the hi-tech nursery of MCD which has the capacity to train the workers on how to grow and take care of different types of plants at different conditions. It also aims to make them friendly with the latest equipment and technologies. Workers will also be taught to create flower board and attractive designs with the bushes.

“Once this project is passed by the senior officials, the school will be started. The fees and duration of the classes will be decided later. For the employees and common man, different schedules shall be made”, said the official.
