Horti food festival 2025 showcases West Bengal’s horticulture potential
Kolkata: West Bengal capital Kolkata is hosting the three-day Agri & Food Fest 2025 from February 20 to 22 at Netaji Indoor Stadium. The event aims to bring together farmers, investors, and government officials to discuss the growth of the horticulture sector in West Bengal.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dipanjan Bhattacharyya, MD of West Bengal State Food Processing and Horticulture Development Corporation Limited, said that such a platform would encourage idea exchange and accelerate development in the sector. The festival has been organized by the Department of Food Processing Industries & Horticulture in collaboration with the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I).

Agriculture Minister Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay highlighted West Bengal’s achievements despite challenges. “Despite stepmotherly treatment by the Centre, we have become number one in several crops and are moving towards self-sufficiency in eggs and poultry,” he stated.
The festival features agricultural and horticultural products from various districts. Around 80 stalls have been set up, displaying fresh produce and processed food items. Over the next two days, the event is expected to attract public interest, along with business-to-business (B2B) meetings focusing on trade and investment opportunities.
Officials believe that such initiatives will boost the state’s food processing and horticulture industries, creating better opportunities for farmers and investors alike.
