Horticulture Department asks Himachal farmers to register for new plants

Shimla: Horticulture is a major source of income for most people in Himachal Pradesh. To support farmers and enhance productivity, the Horticulture Department has been introducing new varieties of plants for the upcoming season. The department has urged farmers to register their names at the earliest to ensure they receive the latest varieties on time.

Subject expert Uttam Parashar, working with the Horticulture Department, shared that new apple plant varieties have been prepared for the next season. These include dwarf apple plants and foreign varieties grown on rootstocks at the department’s centers. Farmers can purchase these plants starting from December 15, 2024. Early registration will help the department ensure timely distribution of the new plants, allowing farmers to plant them during the upcoming season.
