Horticulture Dept releases seed kits to promote winter vegetables
Kapurthala: Quality seeds play a vital role in the horticulture sector. Currently, central as well as state governments are providing valuable seeds and encouraging people to grow vegetables in their waste land so that they can yield enough vegetables to feed their families easily. The Horticulture Department of the Punjab government today released seed kits for the healthier production of winter vegetables.
The kit was distributed by Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal. Nine kinds of seeds have been included in the kit for the super growth of peas, spinach, coriander, fenugreek, radish, carrot, turnip, broccoli, and Chinese mustard in an individual’s home. The vegetable will fulfill the need of five members of a family by cultivating one kit in an area of 3 marla (a measurement of land).
