Horticulture farming boosts MP farmer earnings

Bhopal: Success depends on hard labour. This was proved by a Madhya Pradesh man named Yogesh Raghuwanshi. Currently, he is a role model for others in his region due to his successful horticulture farming and huge earnings through the cultivation of horticultural crops. At present he has been farming on his 50 acres of land using all the modern techniques for better yield.

After completing his MBA in 2012, he was dejected with his job and was always thinking of doing something innovative. At last he decided to concentrate on agriculture. His other aim was to provide job opportunities to the locals. With the farming of tomatoes in 2017, starting his horticulture venture.Despite the loss in the first year, he didn’t lose heart and learnt from his previous mistakes and started planting capsicum, chili, and other horticultural crops on his land. He succeeded in his second attempt; since then he never turned back.

Later, he leased his 200 acres of farming land and planted guavas and other fruits. Therefore, horticulture farming became his profession as well as his business. He believed in sustainable growth and diversification in agriculture. Yogesh has been earning Rs 4 lakh per acre. He succeeded in his mission amid hard labour as well as innovative farming techniques.

Yogesh has given a new mode in the horticulture sector, enticing the farming community to shift from traditional farming to the horticulture sector. He bagged the MFOI award for his contributions in horticulture farming. Agriculture is a way of life for Yogesh. He believes in learning on a regular basis and applying modern technology in growing fruits and vegetables.
